I Throw Away So Many Things

You see, my family grew up in a country where we are not rich but we are not poor either. We tend to be careful with the way we spend money. There were times we don’t have enough but my parents never abandon or leave us especially in those times. I wasn’t able to finish my course because they can’t pay anymore for my tuition but I never hated them instead I work and supported them a little.

There, if you have money then you can buy food, clothes and other stuff but if you don’t have it, you will end up borrowing money from others or you can be as resourceful as you can be.

Now, here I am in this country where I just throw away food, spend something in things that are not really important and I feel sad because every time I throw some food away, I can always remember those people who are starving.

And I realize that I won’t be living a life like this forever. So, I better do something before I end up regretting the things I have done.

Christmas Party

We had a party last Dec. 20 and it was held at Zim’s house. We arrived there about 5pm but the party started about 6. We ate first then have some picture taking then had games. We beat up the guys. Hahaha! There’s apple eating contest. I thought we are going to win that one but my friend Juvy and her husband were fast. They ate the whole thing except for the stem. Wow! We had the white elephant exchange gift.

A White Elephant is a type of gift exchange in which each guest is asked to bring an anonymous wrapped gift. Usually, there is a maximum amount of money that can be spent, and oftentimes the gifts are unpractical and eccentric.

I think some did not get what white elephant exchanging gift should be but that’s cool. The important thing is just to have fun. I got a radio and my husband got a mug. The kids had their exchanging gift too and my husband was the Santa Claus. Hehehe!
After that we had some wine and we did some dancing and singing. My husband and I had fun. This is my second Christmas here in U.S. Wow! Time is fast. And that was my first time to attend a Christmas party here.

It's About the Wicking!

Last Weekend

Last weekend we went to the movie theater and watched The Day the Earth Stood Still. For me it was kinda confusing. But at least my husband likes it. After that we went to a restaurant and had lunch. Then, went to some stores and bought gifts for the upcoming party. And last Sunday, I was just here doing some cleaning while my husband went to work. That’s it, nothing interesting. :-)

Bob – winner of Survivor Gabon

I watch this show from the start till the end. I like the twist and turn. I like the challenges they’ve got. I like the venue and I like watching how each one of them reacts. Well, Bob is my favorite because he is clever and he is nice. And I like Sugar too.

During the last tribal council, Susie was guaranteed a spot at the final 3 because she won the immunity challenge and so Bob thought that he will be the one to go home but because Sugar was very nice. She voted for Matty and they have a tie breaker challenge. And Bob won that challenge.

And Bob won a million dollars plus 100,000. A vote of 4 – 3 against Susie. Bob deserves it.

It was very cold yesterday and even today but for the first time I saw a snow. It happens yesterday afternoon. My friends were the one who told me about it. At first I did not believe in them but when I went out to the balcony and I saw snow flakes. I was happy.

I received a notice from the Immigration last Tuesday. I thought that our case was not approved and so I read the notice and it says: Welcome to the United States of America etc. I was very happy that they approve it but I need to wait 3 more weeks to have the Card. For me, it was like a Christmas gift. And the card is valid for 10 years.

It took us only 5 months from the day we submitted the papers up to the day it get approve. So, the next thing I am going to do is to get my driver’s license.

What a Day

We went to the party this afternoon and I was the one driving. I wrote in my post before that I’m not good in turning and the first turn I did was a mistake and the guy driving behind me was pissed. Huhu! And then when my husband is with me in the car it just makes me more nervous because he will say “that was not a good turn” or “you be on that lane” and what so ever. So, what happen is that I pull over at a parking area and let him drive. I was shaken. My heart kept beating fast. Huhu!

I don’t know if I can really drive. Huhu! But on the other hand, we still went to the party. I’m kinda shy but I tough it out. I knew some of my husband’s co-worker and they are very nice. We ate, talk and we stayed there for about 3 hours and left. I’m happy that I met his co-worker.

Sneezing

Relocation

I still remember the day we moved. My husband did not hire anyone to help us move our things from our old apartment to the new one and he end up giving almost half of our furniture which is sad.

Even though, half of the furniture was gone. We still have more things to carry like books, utensils, clothes etc. It took us half day to transfer all the things in the truck. We learn our lesson and next time we move into a new house. We are going to hire a moving company that we can trust to help us. Like the one from relocation.com. It's so Cold

I hate when it's cold. I feel like I can't do anything except to stay in bed and wrap my body with blanket. I don't like the weather here because it keeps on changing. One day cold the other warm and so on. huhu!

I tried to influence my husband because he spends a lot on stuff that is not really important. And now, he asks me first whether to buy that and this and if I disagree with it, he knows that I have a good reason for it.

I Lost my Key

Here comes December....

I will be one year here this coming Sunday. For me, it was a boring year. I didn’t have much of a progress. I stayed most of my days here in the apartment. I just started to learn how to drive. I don’t have my green card yet and I had miscarriage.

But on the other side, I am happy I have friends. I like blogging and I like the traveling we had. I visited 3 states this year.

I am hoping that everything goes well with me. I wanted to have my green card, I wanted to have a driver’s license and I wanted to work. I don’t have plan to be pregnant next year. I hope next December I could be able write interesting things that will happen.
